Where do you get your items?

We personally travel to the artisans' village in the mountains of Jalisco for the beaded jewelry and accessories. The textiles are purchases in the downtown of the capital city of Zacatecas!

When I order, where are the items being shipped from?

From our office in San Antonio, TX!

How much money goes back to the artisans?

Our business model is such that the money doesn't "go back" to the artisan--it goes FIRST to the artisan. We pay the artisans an wonderful price for their items (usually what are considered "tourist prices" and often above the price they ask for) so that their work is fairly paid and they feel honored at the time of purchase. Therefore, any markdowns you see Tribal Designs announce are markdowns that only affect the store, not the artisans. We are a nonprofit... so all profit from sales is saved and used when we go on our Buy Trips to purchase more amazing work from our artisans!

Are the earrings nickel-free/hypoallergenic?

We purchase and apply hypoallergenic, lead/nickel-free earring hooks here in San Antonio. We cannot speak to the materials which make up the stud earrings.

When do you restock?

We restock whenever the profit from our sales is such that it is enough to do another Buy Trip! :) We usually are able to do 2-3 trips a year. We would *love* to be able to make bi-monthly trips!

Can I place a special order?

While we can't guarantee anything, it never hurts to shoot us an email at tribaldesignsmx@gmail.com with your particular request! Just know it is usually at least a 3 month window in between Buy Trips.
